WorkGuard product
Give near misses a clear path to follow-up
A near miss is an event that could have caused injury or damage but did not. Recording it gives your team a chance to examine what happened and act before a similar event has a worse outcome. WorkGuard supports near-miss reporting alongside workplace incidents.
Record what happened, even when nobody was hurt
Capture the sequence of events, where and when it happened, and the circumstances that made harm possible. Describe observations clearly and keep supporting information with the report.
Example: a falling object misses a worker
A useful report records where the object fell, what work was underway and what was observed at the time. The follow-up might include checking storage arrangements and assigning someone to review controls. This is an illustrative reporting example, not a customer case study.
Assign the next step
Use corrective actions to record agreed follow-up, name a responsible owner and set a due date. Keep the report linked to the work so the reason for the action remains clear.
Make near-miss reviews part of your routine
Agree who reviews new reports and how your team checks outstanding actions. A consistent review routine makes the record useful beyond the day it was submitted and helps people see that reporting leads to follow-up.
